The Moon

One thing I have to say I really like about where I live, is I can see the stars at night. It is beautiful to say the least. No city lights to interrupt or obscure the view of the night sky. Unobstructed pure beauty. We even got a beginner's telescope this Christmas to take a gander.....when it warms up.

Taken this morning at 6:55am @ Deer Trail, Co
What is also nice, is the beautiful moon we see occasionally. Huge, and bright. This morning was one of those times. Taking the girl to the end of the road this morning to catch the bus, I saw it. I ran inside, grabbed my camera, and took some shots. Unfortunately I'm quite an amateur when it comes to my camera. I just can't seem to remember all the settings. But alas, I think I got a few cool shots.

I hope to get more pictures like this as we live here. Hopefully I'll learn how to take better pictures while I'm at it. But in the meantime, I'll just enjoy the view. A quiet minute of mother nature, where hectic life and stress doesn't exist.

Ahhhhhhhh.....

  1. i don't know what kind of cellyphone you have, but...
I found a free app in the droid market that hubby and i have both downloaded into our phones, its called Google Sky Map, and it tells you the names of the stars and planets above your location at any given time. I think it would be cool to use in conjunction with your telescope! Skymap tells whats up there, then the challemge of finding it with the telescope! Sounds fun and edumacational :o)
